One of the key locations in my book Benandante is the Mayfiar district of London. Mrs. Euphemia Beaufort lives in a wealthy neighborhood on Grosvenor. Leases on these houses are passed down generation to generation. She inherited her home from her deceased husband, and his family isn't too happy about it.

While the homes may be elegant, the Abyss sees no difference between this neighborhood and that of one in the East End. With Mrs. Beaufort's scent in his nose, the werewolf stalks her home. He waits for the full moon to make entry. He would have dragged her to the Abyss if not for the policeman interrupting. The man pays for it with his life.

Mrs. Beaufort doesn't get away unscathed. Neither does her home. She orders steel doors and shutters to be crafted. They provide a sense of security, but will they be enough?
